This last week's meeting (Feb. 3), several members of the squadron were recognized with promotions and/or awards.

Cadet Kenneth Blevins was promoted to the grade of Cadet Staff Sergeant and recognized for completing Phase I of the Cadet Program, earning the Wright Brothers Award.

Cadet Caleb Cox was promoted to the grade of Cadet Airman First Class in recognition of his completion of the General Henry "Hap" Arnold Achievement in the Cadet Program

Captain Alan Frazier was recognized for earning the Benjamin O. Davis, Jr. Award, signifying his completion of Level II in the Senior Member Professional Development Program

In addition, several cadets were recognized for their attendance and completion of the North Dakota Wing Cadet Leadership Academy, held in Fargo from January 21-23. The following squadron members attended:

Cadet Joshua Simpkins received Honor Graduate of the Academy as well. Grand Forks had the largest contingent of all squadrons in the Wing attending the event.

In addition, Capt Daniel Sauerwein relinquished his duty as Deputy Commander for Cadets to 2d Lt Dustin Schneider. Capt Sauerwein held the position since December 2007. 2d Lt Schneider expressed his optimism and happiness in working with the cadets. We wish him well.
